Just Some Thoughts

I started to write this some days ago when I read an awesome article in hugimag 22 edition. Gee - I was impressed. It was a very very looong but not boring article about ... I don't know... I guess about life. Maybe reading that article changed me a little bit, or maybe it changed me a little more... who knows? The important thing is that it affected me, it affected my way of thinking and my way of seeing things. Ok, ok... going nutty again, huh? So after reading it I felt like I really wanted to add some thoughts of mine, too. This is more like an advice article. So read on! I hope my article can give you a fine stimulation in life. (Ok I hope just too much but in the end I'm happy at least if you liked it.)

First let me tell you that NO ONE, I mean NO ONE has the right to tell YOU what's right and what's wrong, okay? NO ONE can ask you why are you doing this, why are you doing that. And I mean really NO ONE. Yesterday morning I was talking with my parents about my trip to Spain from this year and I was telling mum about the theme parks I would be going to visit and my dad interrupted me and said to me with a meaningless sound in his voice: "Are you going to Spain for riding some kiddy shit?" I did not answer. But I should have answered something like this: "Yes dad I'm going in Spain to ride some crappy kiddy shit bcoz that crappy kiddy shit happens to be something that makes me happy and why in the world can't you understand that?"

People are stupid, most people are stupid and most people think that if you don't like the same things they love you are not worthy. They think shit like that, everybody does it, even if you can't deny that you once in a lifetime though that. I think that every person is unique. You are unique, I am unique, every person has the right to do what he prefers, to choose a way, a style in their lives. You cannot be like everybody else and if you're trying to be then you must be really dumb. Look for instance at what the massmedia is doing: it is destroying people's choices, they impose on you what is GOOD or what is BAD and they give you their OWN opinion as if it was a rule or something. That shit is... damn stupid. If you construct yourself according to the way the mass media told you then you have no personality at all. Take for instance TV shows, take some saturday evening TV show when the moderator invites stars, musicians, bands etc. You often hear a comment like: "And now the great, beautiful and talented X..." Great? How the heck can they tell you she's great. Beautiful? Why? Are there beauty values? Are there rules to be beatiful? Probably not. Talented? For whom, for what kind of people? What I'm trying to say is that the mass media is trying to impose their own boundaries, as if they say Jennifer Lopez is beautiful you actually start to believe that even if you first didn't think so. This is just an example.

Take Christina Aguilera - beautiful? I don't think so: have you seen her nose? Have you seen her brackets-like legs? Have you seen her withoout make up? And now someone may say: I like her nose, I like her legs, she's natural and beautiful but there is always someone who doesn't think that way. And I'm going in circles right now. I hope at least some one has understood what I'm tryin' to say. Do your thing! This is my advice. Do your thing in your life and never let anyone tell you what is GOOD or what is WRONG. Tell them what you think. Tell everybody in face. Don't let anyone rip you apart. Don't trust your closer friends! Trust yourself. Have confidence. Do your stuff and try to improve in what your best at. Have ambitions, it doesn't matter if it's in music, graphic, drawing, skiing, writing, maths, playing, sculpting, dancing, ballett... dunno... making pencils or repairing stuff. It's important to know what you're good at and you like to do. If you know at least that about yourself then continue your own way in life. And of course respect others' opinions, ideas and preferences. You could never laugh at a person just bcoz he/she listens to country music and you think "it's just lame". The same person could think "why are you listenin' to hip-hop? For me that sucks".

I've often assisted to quarrels in my class between my classmates. There were some rock-listeners that picked on some girl that liked Hanson group. I felt like I was going to explode. They are stupid, they are really retards. You cannot deny someone's preferences, you cannot laugh at him/her, you cannot make your own rules of what is cool or what's not. You cannot say somebody's preferences are stupid just bcoz they're different.

Like I saw in some magazines these days, it was like a chart with what's cool and what sucks. That really pissed me off. I remember classical music at the "sucks part" - HELL, how can they think that? How can they be as stupid as this?!! Please.

Unfortunately or happily (it depends on which way you think that) this article is coming to an end. Whatever it is that you do - you should do it. You should try to be best at what you like most. Never let anyone discourage you. And maybe some day you'll be recompensed.
